Yesterday I visited the Lavender Farm on Keys Creek Rd in Valley Center, nestled in the foothills of the Palomar Mountain range in San Diego County. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life its well worth taking the time to visit this very uniqe haven. It is a certified organic farm with acre upon acre of beautiful, aromatic lavender.

You can feel your stress melt away the moment you walk through the rustic, wooden gates. Keys Creek Lavender Farm in Valley Center is described as “at the end of nowhere”. When you get there you will understand what I mean……. row after row of beautiful fragrant lavender and surely one of the most picturesque destinations left in San Diego County, California.

There is indeed a very special charm to this beautifully designed lavender farm. The farm shop and essential oils distillery are in quaint outbuildings, and the lavender labyrinth and meditation gardens provide peace and tranquility to those wishing to take in a quiet moment. If you would like to stay for some refreshments come and relax on the porch at the lavender tea room and quench your thirst with some tea or lavender lemonade.

The products you will find  for sale in the  gift shops are as good as any I have ever tried… the lavender bubble bath and lavender shortbread cookie scrub will melt away any tension you  have and promise  the best nights rest ever.

The organic lavender honey and lavender jelly will make your mouth water – you’re sure to love the subtle flavors. For an incredible desert warm some lavender jelly in a pan until it liquifies, saute sliced fresh strawberries until the mixture turns a dark red color. Drizzle over ice cream and serve – it does’nt come much easier than that! There are also many other products from a gorgeous line of baby products to cook books, notecards and many other lavender products.

So come by and visit if you are looking for an experience to relax your mind, heighten your senses and feed your soul. I really had a very enjoyable few hours here at this very special haven and returned home relaxed and refreshed, I will be back to visit soon…………..
